5 Easy Eco-Friendly Switches to Make a Positive Impact

Living an eco-friendly lifestyle doesn't have to be a chore. In fact, it can be an exciting journey filled with little victories and big achievements. As conscious and responsible citizens of this planet, we have been inspired to make small yet impactful switches in our daily lives.

  1. Switch to LED lights:

One of the easiest switches we made was switching from traditional light bulbs to LED lights. We were amazed at how much energy and money we saved in just a short amount of time. Plus, the ambiance created by LED lights is modern and inviting, making our home feel more cozy and comfortable.

*Plant Parent Tip* Switch to Full Spectrum LED lightbulbs to give your plants more light in the darker areas of your home!

  1. Use reusable bags:

Another switch we made was to use reusable bags. Plastic bags are a significant source of pollution in our environment, causing harm to wildlife and taking hundreds of years to break down. Switching to reusable bags is a simple yet impactful way to reduce the use of plastic bags. We always leave extra tote bags in the van because we use reusable bags for EVERYTHING - going shopping with friends, produce shopping at the farmers market, as well as filling up our bulk grain!

  1. Use a refillable water bottle:

Using a refillable water bottle was another switch that has changed our life. We do not go anywhere without our Hydros. Not only do we save a ton of money all year by not buying bottled water, but we also feel healthier & more hydrated drinking water from a clean and reusable container. Plastic bottles can leach harmful chemicals into the water, causing it to be more acidic and actually dehydrating. Single Use plastic water bottles are also a major source of our problem with plastic waste.

  1. Shopping Consciously & Sustainably:

Shopping sustainable fashion is another switch that you can make to reduce your impact on the environment. Choosing clothes made from organic, sustainable, or recycled materials can reduce the waste generated from the fashion industry. It's important to note that buying secondhand clothes is also a great option, as it prevents clothes from ending up in landfills and reduces the demand for new clothing production. We loveee a good thrift find!

  1. Use eco-friendly cleaning products & Refill them:

Traditional cleaning products can contain harsh chemicals that are harmful to the environment and our health. We switched to eco-friendly cleaning products, such as the Liquid Sunshine All Purpose Concentrate, Vinegar, & Baking Soda that reduced our exposure to these harmful chemicals and decreased the amount of toxic substances that end up in our water supply. And when we run out of cleaning products, we refill our containers instead of buying new ones, which saves us money and reduces our plastic waste.

Making these small switches has given us a sense of purpose and empowerment. We know that we are doing our part to create a better future for ourselves and for generations to come. Living an eco-friendly lifestyle is not only good for the planet, but it also enriches our lives and brings us closer to the beauty of nature.

So, if you're like us and want to make a difference in the world, start by making small eco-friendly switches in your daily life. They may seem small, but they can make a big impact on the environment and on your own well-being.
